The hamlet of Venta Micena has a bar and a small fiesta every year. The nearest pretty and historical village of Orce is around 15 mins drive away through pretty countryside and has a weekly market, shops, bars, two banks, a hotel, infant and primary school, chemist, post office, spring fed fish swimming pool open all year round, doctor's surgery etc.

The coast is around 1h30 drive away and there are beach areas and thermal baths at Lake Negratin which is 45 minutes drive away.

The nearest airport is Granada (1h30 drive away) followed by Almeria, Murcia, Alicante and Malaga.
