Where Are We?

We can be found in the north of the Province of Granada. The area is known locally as the Altiplano or High Planes, roughly 800m above sea level, which lies just north and midway along the main A92 dual carriageway running between the cities of Granada and Murcia.

There are excellent roads (dual carriageways) to the four airports that service this area which include Alicante, Murcia (St. Javier), Almeria and Malaga. The new Corvera International Airport due to open in Spring 2012 is just over an hours drive (it lies just west of the A30 between Cartagena and Murcia). The Costa Calida is the nearest Mediterranean coastline with Mazarron, Cartagena, La Manga, Aguilas and Garucha all within an easy two hour drive.

The new Paramount Theme Park, when open, is around one hours drive at Alhama de Murcia.

Granada, one of Spain's principal tourist destinations, is just over and hours drive with the Sierra Nevada ski resort just a little further.

The area is well known throughout Spain for its charming cave houses and rural tourism. The countryside is famous for its beauty and variety, ranging from the mountains of Sagra, the fertile river valleys to the scrub of the Badlands.

The weather is characterised by long, hot, dry predictable summers and totally unpredictable winters which are more like those found in the UK but with much lower rainfall. Because of the altitude the hot summer months are pleasant compared with the coast. The humidity is low and the evenings and nights relatively cool.
