| Children are welcome in all bars and restaurants. The welcomes are warm and the food delicious. In many of the restaurants you can go there just for a drink with tapas, a snack or a meal. GALERA
Restaurante El Parador. Specialises in meñu del día, €8 per person (weekdays only) which consists of 3 courses with wine or beer, and in food cooked "a la brasa". Friendly staff and good food. Closed Monday evenings
Pizzeria " La Posa". Pizzas, raciones, platos combinadas, lata al horno and paella. Reasonably priced
El Bar de Manolo. Tapas and raciones. Greeted with a smile from Manolo himself, friendly service and traditional raciones. Local wine a speciality
Café Bar Tutugiâ€: Located in the main square of Galera serving mainly drinks but does some food, good summer terrace
Bar Cirillo. Serves the best coffee in town, probably!
Bar at the Swimming Pool. Only open during July and August. Favoured by the younger adult population with popular music played and special promotions
El Cruce: Favoured by the younger adult population. Table football, darts and loud music!
ORCE
El Salero: Good locals bar situated in the main square of Orce. Specialists in Latas Al Horno (oven roasted lamb)
El Azador: Specialists in roasted chickens and fish. Located on the left hand side as you drive into Orce |

HUESCAR
Cueva "La Alcadima". This is a restaurant with a difference, built into the side of the mountain overlooking Huescar. Very Star Wars in feel, consisting of lots of little nooks to hideaway in the Moroccan-influenced restaurant. Great pizza and snacks. Closed Tuesdays.
Directions: Come out of Galera and go left on to the A330 towards Huescar. Once at Huescar follow the road round, (you will pass a park on your right, and school on your left). Stay on the road as it takes a righthand bend (there is another school on the left on the bend) and then a lefthand bend (there is a Ford garage on your right on the bend). Stay on this road until you get to a crossroads (there is a medical centre on left). Turn right at this junction. The cave restaurant is approximately 1 km on this road. It is the only building on this road so you can´t miss it. If the door is open then the restaurant is open.
El Maño Restaurante.Serves traditional Spanish fayre. Good steaks.
Directions: Just off the main bandstand square in Huescar on Calle Morote
Pizzeria La Tarima: Fantastic pizzeria which does the best Gambas Al Ajillo (garlic prawns) in the area, fact! Closed Mondays
Directions: On the left hand side as you drive into Huéscar from Galera, opposite the Ruta Del Sur Hostal.
Cafetería La Perla: Great for traditional chocolate con churros breakfasts, and lunches. Has just started doing an English breakfast of bacon and eggs.
Directions: Come out of Galera and go left on to the A330 towards Huescar. Once at Huescar follow the road round, (you will pass a park on your right, and school on your left). As the road bends to your right (there is a school on the bend) left left here and then take the 1st left and park. You are now in the market square in Huescar. La Perla is on your right on the corner.
CASTILLEJAR
Emilios. Good menu of the day, specialises in big social events. Directions: Head towards Los Carones on the road from Castillejar. Emilios will be on your right, just away from the road side.La Antigua Estación. Directions: in the centre of Castillejar heading back on to the main road. The restaurant has a sign of an old stream train. There is a little play area at the front (which is not part of the restaurant). |  |
LOS OLIVOS

EL MARGEN
The Curry Cave
Set in a cave, this restaurant offers an Indian Buffet, consisting of 4 courses, with a selection of starters and main courses including a vegetarian curry. You can eat and drink as much as you like for the all inclusive price of 15 euros. Booking is strongly recommended and the restaurant is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 7.30pm until midnight. Telephone 677731468 or 663548940 to book. The proprietors are English so no language barriers here!!
Directions:
From Galera take the A330 towards Cullar. After approx. 10kms you will see a sign indicating petrol 3kms and the curry cave turn-off is approx. 100 yards on your left after this. There are paintpots by the side of the road and when open signs indicating the Curry Cave.
CULLAR
MonteCarlo. Traditional Spanish mesón.
Directions: on the road to Cullar on your right, the restaurant will be on your right.
Further Afield
Restaurante Los Collados de la Sagra. Spectacular setting amongst the pine trees of La Sagra. Excellent food specialising in game. Expensive but considered the best restaurant in the region with people travelling all the way from Valencia to eat there. There is also an hotel if you wish to stay the night. If you are planning visiting at the weekend, it is advisable to book in advance. Telephone: 958 344 464 / 958 344 472 Directions: head towards La Puebla de don Fadrique from Galera along the A330. Drive through the town. Pass through the traffic lights and follow signs for Murcia, the road bends to the right but you need to turn left following signs for Santiago la Espalda and Los Collados de la Sagra. Road is long and windy, be patient and follow the road. After approximately 5km, turn left following signs for Los Collados de la Sagra. The restaurant will be on your right. |

Restaurante Pozo Alcon. Another spectacular setting with stunning views of the Negratin Lake, where you can swim, relax with a Tinto de Verano and enjoy the food. The Sea Bass comes highly recommended.
Directions: Follow the road to Castril, continue past Castril (do not drive into the town) for another 5km. You will start to drive through a wooded area. The restaurant will be on your right, just off from the main road.
